Offense:
Parsons football coach Jeff Schibi told VYPE in a recent interview “The 2023 Parsons Vikings are looking to get back on track after finishing last season on a down note with an early playoff exit against the Girard Trojans. We return several starters on both sides of the ball as well as a wealth of experience from non-starters. If we can take care of the football, eliminate mental mistakes and reduce penalties, we should be a tough out for anyone on our schedule.” When discussing the teams offense Schibi said “We will look to become more balanced on run vs. pass. Our offensive philosophy is to find ways to get the ball to our playmakers as many times a game as possible. We want to put pressure on the defense and make them cover the entire field.” Among the teams offensive players are the top six to watch – Jahmarion Washington (6’1”, 220, Sr), JJ Kendrick (6′ 0”, 160, Sr), Tra Mack (5’ 10”, 150, Sr), Cade Brown (6’ 1”, 220 Sr), Brody Boss (5’ 10”, 230, Sr), and Kaden Blake (5’ 11”, 210, Sr).
Defense:
Schibi also shared that the teams “base defense is 4-4. Our philosophy on defense is to play fast, physical and discipline.” The athlete putting that philosophy into practice will be – Demonta Kendrick (5’ 10”, 230, Jr) with “51 Tackles, 9 TFL, 2 Sacks, 6 QB Hurries, 1 Blocked PAT”, Makai Baugh (6’ 0”, 160, Jr) with “34 Tackles, 1 TFL, 3 Passes Defensed”, Jason Smart (6’ 0”, 160, Jr) with “18 Tackles, 1 INT, 4 Passes Defensed”, Sam Brewer (6’ 5”, 290, Sr) with 15 Tackles, 1 TFL”, and Korbyn Harris (5’ 8”, 220, Jr) with “22 Tackles, 2 TFL” relayed Coach Schibi.
