Coffeyville Field-Kindley Golden Tornadoes: 2023 Football Team Preview – Presented by Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office

Welcome to VYPE’s new Southeast Kansas Sportzone! Where we aim to bring together athletic communities through our coverage of area athletes and their schools. Come back tomorrow to see a preview of the 2023 Parsons Football Team.

– Hunter Ferguson (VYPE Content Developer)

Coffeyville Field – Kindley Golden Tornadoes

Coach: Deonta Wade

2022 Record: 6-4

Offense:

With 8 returning offensive starters Field – Kindley Coach Deonta Wade says “We base out of 12 personnel (1 running back) and a TE+Wing on the same side. We run wing T concepts and want to establish a punishing run game. Ideally, for us, the defense is so concerned about the run it opens up the pass for us to make things easier.” Wade listed Aaron Tunstall, Axel Erne Amanie Luten, Keshawn Hayes, Joseph Neuenschwander, and Amir Luten as the “top six offensive players” to watch.

Defense:

Wade shared with VYPE that “We are a 4-2-5 defense. We want to control the line of scrimmage and hold teams’ rushing attacks. We believe in “spilling” the ball and rallying to the tackle. All hands on deck.” Among them are the “top six defensive players” – Kainen White, Brayson Voss, Joseph Neuenschwander, Amanie Luten, Keshawn Hayes, and Aaron Tunstall. Overall, Wade shared “We are hoping to take the next step in the rebuilding of our program. We had a very productive 2022 season, and now we look to build off of that success. We have to stay grounded and keep our working man’s mentality. Nothing will come easy, and we must “fight” to take what we want.”
