Q&A with Coffeyville’s Amanie Luten – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Hutchinson Community College

In our recent poll, Coffeyville’s Amanie Luten was voted “Outstanding Defensive Back” winning out among his peers with 1,725 votes. After his victory, Luten completed an interview with VYPE to tell us more about who he is.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

Some personal goals I have for this year is be a standout, and to be myself and play my game.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

The most fun I had in the last year would have to be making in to state in both wrestling and track.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

Truthfully I would have to say every teacher I had was my favorite because they all help me at some point in time throughout my educational career.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory is most definitely competing at the state wrestling and state track events.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

I would have to say Aaron Tunstall because we always push each other to be the best we can be.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

If I could pick any place for vacation it would have to be the Bahamas and I would take my family members because we’ve never been there before.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

I would honestly give it to my parents to help them out with anything they need it for.

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?

Yes I do participate in community service, just anywhere, way I can help my community but most of the time I helping out with the younger kids.
