Fredonia’s Behr Coulter – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Tammy Baker Shelter Insurance

Fredonia High School senior Behr Coulter is a standout student-athlete whose dedication spans across three sports: football in the fall, basketball in the winter, and baseball in the spring. A true competitor at heart, Coulter brings versatility and leadership to each team he represents. On the football field, he plays both tight end and linebacker, bringing toughness and reliability to both sides of the ball. On the basketball court, he takes on the role of shooting guard and small forward, known for his clutch performances and hustle. During baseball season, he’s found both on the mound and at second base, demonstrating skill, strategy, and consistency.

What drives Coulter isn’t just the love of the game, It’s the results that come from hard work. “Positive results motivate me to keep going,” he shared with Vype Magazine. He finds inspiration in the legendary Kobe Bryant, whose work ethic and commitment to excellence deeply influenced Coulter’s own mindset. “Kobe set a perfect example of how hard work gives positive results,” he adds.

Coulter credits much of his growth to his basketball coach, Dee Barnett. “He showed interest in me and wanted to work with me to help me become better,” Coulter reflects. Countless late nights after practice and grueling summer workouts laid the foundation for a defining moment in his athletic career, sinking a game-tying shot that pushed his team into double overtime and gave them a shot at the sub-state championship.

Beyond athletics, Coulter is an active member of FCCLA, where he’s qualified for nationals three years in a row. Although undecided on a specific college to attend, he plans to pursue a career in sports medicine, combining his passion for athletics with a desire to help others succeed.

For Coulter, playing in front of a supportive Fredonia crowd is one of the greatest honors. “It means so much to me when I get to show up to games and see our whole community there supporting our school,” he says.

With passion, discipline, and community behind him, Behr Coulter is building a legacy that will carry far beyond the halls of Fredonia High.
