Just a sophomore, Kodi Trimble has already emerged as one of Oswego High School’s most dynamic multi-sport athletes. Playing point guard and shooting guard in basketball and serving as the setter on the volleyball team, Trimble brings leadership, energy, and vision to every lineup she’s part of.
This basketball season, Trimble’s personal focus centers on becoming a stronger leader and attacking the basket more often to earn additional free-throw opportunities. As a team, the Indians are working toward developing a strong press and an aggressive, high-pressure defense.
One of the things she looks forward to most is the electric atmosphere of Oswego’s home games, where the echoes of the gym and the roar of the crowd make every moment feel bigger. She is especially eager for the matchup against Northeast. Last year, while battling sickness, she still hit six three-pointers but was unhappy with her defense. This season, she is determined to redeem herself defensively while keeping her offensive firepower strong.
Trimble’s offseason reflects her commitment. She spent the summer running distance and sprints to improve stamina and speed, getting up extra shots, working on jump training, and sharpening her overall form. Her dedication to the sport has paid off for her last season. She averaged 7.2 rebounds and 12.1 points per game last year and earned First Team All-League, achievements she’s extremely proud of.
Looking ahead, Trimble hopes to earn a sports scholarship and major in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, and Biology, with plans to enter the Sports Medicine field.
Outside of basketball, she competes in softball both for the school and a travel team, participates in K-Club, NHS, Student Council, and has years of experience in travel basketball. She also plans to try out for club volleyball next year.
