At Grant Deardorff State Farm, we believe that true strength lies in our communities, and what better way to nurture that strength than by celebrating our future leaders?
In this spirit, we are proud to introduce the Grant Deardorff State Farm Good Neighbor Student of the Month Project, a heartfelt initiative designed to recognize and uplift middle school students who embody the spirit of kindness and character in our schools.
In a world that often focuses on grades and athletics, this project chooses to spotlight students whose actions speak volumes about their character. This year’s seven participating school districts – Joplin, Webb City, Carthage, Carl Junction, Galena, Baxter Springs, and Riverton — will nominate students whose character shines out through the many ways they serve their fellow students and communities.
What actions qualify students for the Grant Deardorff State Farm Good Neighbor Student of the Month Award? Actions like these:
- Welcoming new classmates
- Mentoring peers to helping those who speak English as a second language
- Sitting with others at lunch, ensuring no one feels alone
- Organizing class activities
- Fostering a sense of community
These are the type of qualities we seek to recognize, and we are thrilled to shine the spotlight on students who are making a difference through their everyday acts of kindness and positive leadership.
The Grant Deardorff State Farm Good Neighbor Student of the Month Award includes:
- a personalized certificate signed by their principal and our agency
- an invitation to appear on the local TV show Living Well Show on KSN16 TV, Joplin, MO
- a gift certificate for a family meal at Pizza Ranch
- a gaming card for some fun!
- Plus, they will be celebrated on social media by both our agency and the Joplin Chamber of Commerce, ensuring their honorable deeds are shared far and wide.
At Grant Deardorff State Farm, we are committed to being a good neighbor, and we invite you to join us on this journey. Already, other school districts are expressing an interest in joining the challenge. Please join us in celebrating these incredible middle school students and help us spread the word—because when we lift each other up, we all rise together!
