Baxter Springs High School senior post player and student-athlete Jacob Grant spoke to VYPE SPORTS in a recent interview.
VYPE SPORTS: What are your personal goals for the year?
Grant: Simply to always do my best and always put out as much effort as possible.
VYPE SPORTS: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Grant: I think my favorite memory is of my first time getting a dunk in a game.
VYPE SPORTS: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Grant: There have been a couple of teammates who have left a great impression on me – especially on how to be a great player. Weston Shafer was a great example for me.
VYPE SPORTS: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
Grant: I love how close all of us are and how we all get along all the time.
VYPE SPORTS: What clubs or campus groups are you involved with and why?
Grant: I participate in sports and I am a member of the National Honors Society (NHS).
VYPE SPORTS: What accolades (in any sport or activity) are you most proud of?
Grant: I am probably most proud of being named All-State as a wide receiver, kicker, and punter in football.
VYPE SPORTS: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Grant: Maybe the most valuable thing I have learned is to always do your best and be disciplined.
VYPE SPORTS: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Grant: Never give up.
VYPE SPORTS: Who inspires you and why?
Grant: My dad inspires me because he is always pushing me to do my best and always sets a good example in everything he does.
