Caney Valley High Bullpups’ senior point guard and student-athlete Colt Hightower spoke to VYPE SPORTS in a recent interview.
VYPE SPORTS: What are your personal goals for the year?
Hightower: My goals are to finish with a winning record and to win substate so we can compete at the state tournament.
VYPE SPORTS: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Hightower: That would have to be a game-winning shot I hit against Wyandotte on the night or our 2022 homecoming.
VYPE SPORTS: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Hightower: My brother, Jace Scott, because he always pushed me past my limits, and he wanted me to be great.
VYPE SPORTS: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
Hightower: I think my favorite thing about this team is just the chemistry that we share.
VYPE SPORTS: What clubs or campus groups are you involved with and why?
Hightower: I am not currently involved in any other clubs or activities.
VYPE SPORTS: What accolades (in any sport or activity) are you most proud of?
Hightower: I think I am probably most proud of being named All-State Honorable-Mention.
VYPE SPORTS: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Hightower: Probably the most key thing I have learned from basketball is the importance of discipline and doing what needs to be done to better yourself.
VYPE SPORTS: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Hightower: The best advice I’ve ever been told is to “Learn from Greatness.”
VYPE SPORTS: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
Hightower: I want to thank, my brother, Jace Scott, my sister, Rya Hightower, and my mom for all they do for me and how much they believe in me.
