Q&A with Independence’s Joshua Lawrie – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Great Plains Federal Credit

Independence wrestler Josh Lawrie recently completed an interview with VYPE.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals for this year is to have a fun senior year and win state wrestling.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite memory is the ride back after state wrestling my junior year.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammate that has left the biggest impact on me is Kohen Wright, we always push each other to get better.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part about being on my team is the people and how I can help them and how they help me.

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?

I like to help clean up at basketball games and help with lots of school activities.

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

I’m apart of Stuco, Spanish club, Theater, health club, chess club, and FCA. I’m apart of all of my clubs because I love to try new things.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Wrestling has taught me how to be patient.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Someone that inspires me is Spencer Lee because of how dominant he is at wrestling.
