Q&A with Fort Scott’s Bryson Basset – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Bourbon County Cars

Fort Scott soccer player Bryson Basset told VYPE about his life in a recent interview.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals are to get stronger and faster for the next soccer season.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory is when I guarded a fast dribbler and locked him down.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammate that has so far left the biggest impression on me is Cristian Seals. Freshman year when I would play beside him or watched him play I wanted to do what he could do, how he could slide tackle perfectly and never get outran.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part about being on the Fort Scott soccer team are the players. Some of the players I have a connection with where I don’t with anyone else.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Something soccer has taught me is that I use constantly is that people will always be bigger and better which gives me a better reason to drive to be better at all things.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

The best advice that someone has given me is to not always try to win for the ball. Sometimes delaying is more important and to wait for the wrong move. Wait for the weak spot.
