Coffeyville athlete Tucker Vesey told VYPE in a recent interview “My personal goal for this year is to make it to state and try to at least place while I am there”. Saying that wrestling has “taught me to think quickly because on a mat you’ve got to make decisions quickly and efficiently. It’s also taught me patients because you could be waiting’s hours before your next match”.
“My favorite part of being on the Coffeyville wrestling team is that we push each other to succeed and help each other when we realize they are needing it” said Vesey.
Off-the-mat, Vesey is involves in “FFA and FCA. The reason I chose to participate in FFA is they offer so many competitions that I really enjoy going to and have really great teachers that push us to try the ones we don’t want to do. I joined FCA because it’s nice to be able to be around church going people in a school setting”.
When asked who inspired him Vesey stated “Coach McGlothin inspires me because he is always pushing us to do better, even in the off season. He tells us things to make sure we are doing what is best for us”.
