Q&A with Coffeyville’s Keshawn Hayes – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Shelter Insurance Lacey Hodges

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals for the year have been to improve my craft, bring home a league title, and a state championship.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

The most fun I’ve had in the past year has been spending time with my family and friends – creating a stronger bond with them.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

My favorite teacher has been Ms. Karlas Moore. The reason she’s been my favorite is because she taught me how to respect my elders. I have also liked her willingness to give love, attention and acceptance to every kid no matter what.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory is from a home game we played last year against Columbus, KS. The ran a jet sweep and I ran 65 yard to score a touchdown, Then, I knelt and pointed at the sky for on of my idols. Coach Marion Grant who had recently passed away – he meant a lot to me.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammate who has left the biggest impression on me has been my cousin Aaron Tunstall. He and I have been playing sports together since we were little kids. Now, we have a great connection in everything we do.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

If I had to pick any place to go on a vacation I would want to go to the Bahamas and I would want to take my whole family with me.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

If I was given $500 to spend in the next 24 hours I would help my Mamma out with some bills.

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

I’m a member of JAGk (Jobs for American Graduates in Kansas).
