Coffeyville’s Axel Erne recently won our poll for Outstanding Quarterback with 8,874 votes from the community. Each poll winner is then featured in their own article where we spotlight that athletes life and accomplishments. When we spoke to Erne he shared “My favorite part of being on this team is knowing that I have some of the best skill guys in the state by my side and we’ve all played together since we were little”.
This season, Erne says he wants to “do better than last year and lead the team to a deep run in the playoffs.” Something he will be working toward alongside fellow Bulldog Aaron Tunstall – who also won a a recent poll of ours for Outstanding Running Back. Erne told us “Aaron Tunstall is a teammate that has left the biggest impression on me because he is someone who is always being a leader and fights hard all the way until the end no matter what”.
Erne who’s “favorite athletic memory was winning the regional little league World Series in 2018” stated “The most fun I have had in the last year is just hanging out with my friends and running 1-on-1’s at the field” and when he isn’t putting in work on the Bulldogs tuft he volunteers his time by coaching youth sports through his towns recreation program.
