Offense/Defense:
Iola Mustangs coach David Daugharthy who has been with the team six years told VYPE in a recent interview “we are looking to do big things this season! We made the playoffs last season and played well in that game despite battling numerous injuries last season. Now, we are returning 13 seniors that have all had significant playing time and a junior class that features quite a few returning varsity minutes.” Returning to the team are eight offensive and eight defensive players. Among them are Landon Weide (6’0”, 160, Sr), Danny Boeken (6’1”, 260, Sr), Drayden Reiter (6’0”, 200, Sr), Kolton Greathouse (5’11”, 230, Sr), Korbin Cloud (5’10”, 150, Sr), Cortland Carson (6’0”, 180, Jr), Ben Kerr (5’9”, 180, Sr), and Briggs Michael (5’9”, 165, Sr).
