Offense:

Joining the Chaunte football team this year will be “newcomers” Luke Becknell (6’3, 275, Jr.), Owen Luttrell (5’10, 146, Jr.),  Nathan Wilson (5’9, 163, Jr.), Kris Harding (5’10, 172, So.), and Elliott Stephenson (6’1, 187, Jr.) who are set to join the ranks of the teams “returning starters”. “Key Contributors” Kaiden Seamster, Augustus Thuston, Hunter Anderson, Jase Tarter, Jordan Duncan, Kash Fitzmaurice, Peyton Hurst, Talan Haynes, Garrett Love, Cade Small, Quentin Harding, Canton Fitzmaurice, and Landen Bilby. Their coach Clete Frazell told VYPE “A new batch of leaders will need to emerge and take charge of this team. This will be a physical team that should be very strong up front on the Offensive and Defensive lines and is in a position to be a hard team to beat in 2023.”

Defense:

As the 2023 football season begins the Head Coach of the Blue Comet football team says “Chanute will need to fill the shoes of some very talented skill player that graduated.” Frazell shared a few of the teams’ “Key Losses” with us and where they have moved on to. Sighting “Eric Erbe DB Southwestern College, Dagen Dean DE Pittsburg State University, Ty Leedy LB Pittsburg State University, Bryan Jackett DL Mid-America Nazarene (Baseball), and Trey Dillow LB Central Missouri State University (Wrestling). Their coach also shared that “There is plenty of potential and it depends on how we come together as a team in the offseason.”
